Infrared emitting tube (IR LED), also known as infrared emitting diode, belongs to the diode class. It is a light-emitting device that can directly convert electrical energy into near-infrared light (invisible light) and emit it.

Infrared emission tubes are high-power infrared emission diodes using GaAlAs technology, packaged in transparent or blue plastic.
